IMPLEMENTATION OF VISION SCREENING FOR CHILDREN
Since 2010 Sepehr Charity Foundation with the cooperation of Kerman provincial Welfare organization, has undertaken a plan for vision screening for children between one and six years of age in the city of Bam and surrounding villages. This activity is carried out with the use of photo chronometer.
Throughout the year, from end October to early December, amblyopia prevention plan is executed across the country. One of the permanent stations for vision test is situated at the Sepehr Charity Foundation. During the current plan under execution, this station operates daily in two morning and afternoon shifts. In addition, Sepehr’s mobile expert units have been involved in the vision screening plan at daycare centers in the city of Bam, healthcare centers, and surrounding villages based on an authorization from Bam Provincial Health Department.Any cases of amblyopia is recorded and the child is referred to the health department for further treatment.
From the start of the vision screening plan by Sepehr Charity Fundationin the city of Bam and surrounding villages until Sep.2022, a total of 12201 children have been screened and 1099 cases have been diagnosed with possible disability and referred to Bam Provincial Health Department.
